Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is written in plain English for an ESL lesson-planning web app for teachers in Vietnam. It is not legal advice and is pending review by a Vietnam-qualified lawyer.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Plan My Lesson collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data. We collect limited teacher account data and generated lesson content. We do not collect student personal data.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect:

  • teacher name;
  • email address;
  • school name;
  • city;
  • account and usage information, such as lesson count;
  • prompts, lesson settings, and generated lesson content.

We collect student age ranges only, such as "adults", "teenagers", or "8-10 years old". We do not collect student personal data.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

Do not enter:

  • student names;
  • student emails or phone numbers;
  • student photos;
  • student addresses;
  • student ID numbers;
  • student grades linked to names;
  • health, disability, family, or sensitive information about a student;
  • any other information that identifies a student.

If you accidentally enter student personal data, please contact us so we can help delete it.

4. How We Use Data

  • create and manage teacher accounts;
  • generate ESL lesson content;
  • save generated lessons for your use;
  • count monthly lesson generation limits;
  • improve app quality and safety;
  • prevent misuse and protect the service;
  • contact you about your account or important service updates.

5. AI Processing

We use AI systems to generate lesson plans and teaching materials. Your prompts and lesson content may be processed by AI providers or technical service providers that help us run the app.

We do not want student personal data to be entered into the app or sent to AI systems.

6. Legal Basis and Consent

We process teacher data to provide the app, manage accounts, secure the service, and communicate with users. Where consent is required by law, we will ask for it. You may contact us to ask about your data or withdraw consent where the law allows.

7. Sharing Data

We do not sell teacher personal data. We may share data with trusted service providers who help us run the app, such as hosting, database, email, analytics, payment, security, and AI service providers.

We may also share data if required by law, regulation, court order, or government authority.

8. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No online service is completely secure. If we discover a data incident, we will take reasonable steps to reduce harm and follow legal notice requirements.

9. International Data Transfers

Some service providers may store or process data outside Vietnam. When this happens, we will take steps intended to protect the data and follow applicable legal requirements.

10. Data Retention

We keep teacher account data while the account is active. We keep generated lesson content so teachers can access their lesson history, unless deletion is requested or a shorter retention period is required. We may keep limited records longer if needed for security, legal, tax, dispute, or backup reasons.

11. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete data;
  • withdraw consent;
  • object to certain processing;
  • ask how your data is used.

12. Children and Students

The app is for teachers, not students. Students should not create accounts or use the app directly unless we later add a student-facing product with proper safeguards and notices. Teachers must not upload student personal data.

13. Paid Plans Later

If we add paid plans, we may collect billing-related information. Payment information may be handled by a payment provider. We will update this Privacy Policy before launching paid plans.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are important, we will try to notify users by email, in-app notice, or another reasonable method.
